Weatherization Programs

Weatherization

The purpose of this program is to weatherize homes in order to stop air infiltration.  The work includes caulking, weatherstripping of doors, attic insulation and ventilation, insulation of electric hot water heaters, window and door replacement and repair, window glazing, and repair of exterior walls, ceilings and floors.

Weatherization/LIHEAP

This program has two(2) options. 

Option One: The work includes caulking, weatherstripping of doors, attic insulation and ventilation, insulation of electric hot water heaters, window and door replacement and repair, window glazing and repair of exterior walls, ceilings, and floors.

Option Two: Heating and or cooling or water heating.  For an appliance to be replaced the existing system must be energy inefficient, inoperable, not repairable at a reasonable cost, or unsafe.

Farmers Home Preservation Grant Program


Application for this program are taken from the Weatherization Program for clients that qualify for this program.  Repairs covered under this program include replacement of windows and doors, insulation, air conditioning and heating systems, roof repair and replacement, cabinets, septic systems, wells, handicap shower units, painting, plumbing, porches, steps, handrails, handicap commodes, wheelchair ramps, floor, ceiling and wall repairs and other health and safety related measures. 

Mobile homes are excluded from this program.

State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP)


This program provides services in Holmes and Walton Counties and the homeowner must have a deed to their property.  The home repairs consist of roofs, porches, steps, handrails, handicap showers, commodes, plumbing, wheelchair ramps, floor repair and floor covering, wall repair, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, windows, doors, insulation, air conditioning and heating systems, exterior painting, septic tanks, wells, pump repair and replacement, drain lines, and other repairs that are necessary for the health and safety of the client.  The client must be willing to sign a lien for a five (5) year period.

Mobile homes are excluded from this program.
